25 Managers Earn CIMS “ISSA Certification Expert” (I.C.E.) Designation

Diversified Maintenance is pleased to announce that 25 of its managers have achieved the Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS) ISSA Certification Expert (I.C.E.) designation. The training took place on August 24 of this year in Birmingham, AL.

CIMS, a program developed and administered by ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association, is the first consensus-based management standard that outlines the primary characteristics of a successful, quality cleaning organization. Individuals who wish to assist their cleaning organization or their customers in preparing for CIMS certification can become ISSA Certification Experts (I.C.E.), while facility managers and others responsible for selecting a cleaning service provider can gain an increased level of confidence in their contractor by using CIMS as a powerful pre-qualification tool.

Among those from Diversified Maintenance who participated in the program were Sales Managers, Division Managers, Operations Managers, Account Managers, Safety Directors, and C-level executives from across the United States. Their involvement with ongoing performance and organizational strategy made them ideal candidates for I.C.E.

Attaining the I.C.E. certification positions the individual as an indispensable business resource, assuring that he/she understands how a cleaning organization operates, its daily challenges, and how an I.C.E. can use his/her expertise to assist the organization in developing a solid management framework and a comprehensive green cleaning program.

“Diversified Maintenance has grown into a national organization, and it became necessary to exponentially increase the number of trained experts within our organization,” explained Ben Weil, Senior Director, Marketing & Regional Sales. “Our people are able to perform their tasks and face challenges armed with enhanced knowledge that comes from being CIMS-GB Certified—with honors—and that this certification positively affects our customers.”

I.C.E. professionals are prepared to assist and lead a cleaning organization through the comprehensive compliance process toward a CIMS and CIMS-Green Building (GB) certification, as well as the periodic recertifications required by the standard.

I.C.E. certified organizations have attended a comprehensive course and passed a rigorous examination based on the industry standard for:

“Diversified Maintenance is proud of our team who have completed I.C.E.’s rigorous requirements to receive this prestigious certification,” said Weil. “This places us in an elite category of companies genuinely committed to customer satisfaction.”

About CIMS and I.C.E.
The ISSA Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS) and CIMS-Green Building (CIMS-GB) set forth a management framework designed to assist building service contractors and in-house cleaning departments to develop and maintain quality, customer-focused organizations capable of delivering a comprehensive green-cleaning program based on LEED EB: O&M (Operations & Maintenance) green cleaning criteria. The standard is nonprescriptive, meaning that each organization has the flexibility to choose the most effective ways in which to meet its requirements. CIMS and CIMS-GB were created through a true consensus-based process that brought together representatives of the cleaning, facilities management, and purchasing communities. ISSA speaks at numerous facility-management and purchasing industry events throughout the year to outline the value of working with CIMS and CIMS-GB-certified cleaning companies, as well as certifying in-house operations.
