Diversified Maintenance Birmingham Office Collects Christmas Presents for Local Kids in Need

Contributed by Ben Weil and Charalynn Marable

Last month the Birmingham Corporate and Operations offices came together to collect toys for the Lovelady Center. The center’s mission is to help women rebuild their lives and become a contributing member of the community after being released from incarceration. The Lovelady Program ensures each woman is taught how to overcome barriers to success by providing access to needed services. Programs are funded through a variety of fundraising activities, including two thrift stores in the Birmingham area. The toys were collected by Diversified personnel during the Birmingham office’s annual Secret Santa festivities. Each participant draws a random name and buys a new, toy that reflects some aspect of that person – the more humorous, the better! Then we all have a blast unwrapping the presents while enjoying a Christmas meal together. Thanks to all this year’s participants!
